Last 2019, some cases were reported to police, one person dead and five (5) others were injured in two different shootings in Saint Paul Minnesota. Police do their community search for suspects in both cases. 

Aside, from talking about her experience on gun violence during the event. All participants divide into a small group to discuss the resource, shooting trauma that they had experienced in the communities. And how families, especially parents can address guns violence.

These are the reasons why the GunsDown community is involved in this situation. Guns Down Saint Paul organized a youth summit in leadership with Dora Jones Robinson. She helps educate local community kids, teens and adults by sharing her story and public awareness about gun violence. And how families suffer by losing their loved ones. According to her, ” I lost my niece and she was shot eight (8) times to gun violence.” I know how it feels when you get through this kind of situation. Most of the people who attend the summit have the same gun violence experience as Dora Jones Robinson and how this gun violence impacts their community in St. Paul.

They shared their advocacy on this: 

Jones Robinson said, “This is what’s going on in those breakout sessions we’re digging deep, we’re trying to figure out why it’s so quick for someone to pick up a gun and shoot someone that looks just like them.

Christian McCleary said,  “We have a lot of leaders all around to facilitate and dig deep to see how the saint paul community is feeling and how gun violence is affecting them”. 

According to the investigation, the police said that someone shot and killed a man in Suburban Avenue. After hours of what happened, the police inspector said a shooter wounded five (5) people off York Avenue and Desoto Street in an unrelated incident, with no arrests in both cases. After that incident Saturday police spokesman said they don’t have an update for both cases. Guns Down St. Paul event addressed the most recent violence in their city regarding gun violence. 

Guns Down St. Paul helps educate kids, teens and adults to understand gangs, selling drugs and carrying guns can be the big factor to losses in their own lives through gun violence. 

Jones Robinson said, “we’ve got to create an alternative; today is an alternative”.

This gun violence had increased rapidly to the community of Saint Pual Minnesota not only In this community but the entire whole United States (US). That is why it is best to educate children while they are still young. If they know the law about guns this can lead to saving lives not only to your family but to all the people surrounding you.
